Clean-Up Day on the River

Get your hands dirty!

10 August 2019

We will organize a watershed clean-up with the "Cape Fear River Watch" and "Keep New Hanover Beautiful."

We will pull trash and debris from our urban streams from shore or by boat - whatever it takes to keep the Cape Fear River clean and have some fun.

Each year, their volunteers collect over 15,000 pounds of trash from our watershed to make our region a cleaner, healthier place to live.

Please Join in the Fun!

PLACE: This event will take place on a tributary of Greenfield Lake, off of Medical Center Drive.

Emphasis will be placed on wetland areas and the creek itself. Please wear appropriate clothing (long pants, hats, boots, etc).

Water and iced coffee will be provided, bring a reusable cup for the coffee! As always, gloves, pickers, bags, and buckets will be provided.

Parking available off of Silver Stream Dr near the Children’s Learning Center.
