|Cruise - Manteo
Location: To Manteo and back.
Date and Time: May 8 - 18
Cruise to Manteo
Our first long cruise of the year will start on May 8th, leaving from Wilmington and going north to Manteo. Our itinerary will be:
Beaufort Docks – 2 nights
River Dunes Resort – 2 nights
Alligator River Marina – 1 night
Manteo Waterfront Marina – 2 nights
Ocracoke Anchorage Inn and Marina – 2 nights
Morehead City Marina - 1 night
Most of us have never been to River dunes Resort, and it appears to be a wonderful location with plenty of activities (pool, spa, etc.) They also offer rental units.
This should be a great cruise to the Outer Banks just ahead of the summer crowds. If you can’t cruise with us, you can always join us via land yacht and still enjoy the activities. Please add your name to the register and note land only under the boat name.

Please sign-up and join us for a fun time on the north end of Figure 8 Island. We will anchor off a protected just inside Rich's Inlet on the Northern tip of Figure 8 and enjoy a BYO picnic lunch. The ocean is a very short walk away across the tip of the island. To the north we will see Leah Island, an uninhabited nature sanctuary. Figure 8 is the vacation destination of some of the country's truly rich and famous and the houses reflect it. For those not familiar with these waters the area is accessed from the ICW via Nixon's Channel which is just north of marker 118 (about 1 mile north of the Figure 8 Island swing bridge. Nixon's Channel is unmarked but easily navigable by favoring the right side all the way from the ICW to the site of our picnic. Those wanting to transit in a group can meet at the Figure 8 Island swing bridge at 1100 and the Munnikhuysen's ("MJ", 24' sky blue Grady White center console) will lead the flotilla to the picnic.
